On August 21, the Maharashtra State Government bestowed both the 58th and 59th Maharashtra State Film Awards simultaneously–first time in the history. The event honoured the veteran actor Shivaji Satam, famously known for his role as ACP Pradyuman in the popular television series C.I.D, with Chitrapti V Shantaram Lifetime Achievement Award and Asha Parekh with the Late Raj Kapoor Lifetime Achievement Award. The accolades were accompanied by significant cash prizes as well as citations. Meanwhile, the Chitrapati V. Shantaram Special Contribution Award was given to writer-director-actor Digpal Lanjekar, whereas the Late Raj Kapoor Special Contribution Award was presented to N Chandra for his contribution in Indian cinema.
The ethereal voice of veteran singer Anuradha Paudwal was also celebrated at the event with the Lata Mangeshkar Award for 2024. Actress Rohini Hattangadi and singer Sudesh Bhosle were also honoured at the event for their contributions to cinema and music, respectively.
