Space X IPO ! Was It All For Private Investors ?

For those who of you are living under a rock let me tell you about Elon Musk and his company.
Space X IPO is officially known as “Space Exploration Technologies Corp.” It is an American aerospace and technology company founded by Elon Musk. It designs , manufactures , and launches advanced rockets and spacecraft. It is also a parent organisation of Starlink that gives satalite internet and xAI .
Space X is originally founded by Elon Musk but he doesnot own 100% of its equity . He owns roughly 42% to 46% equity but holds over 80% of the voting power due to dual class share structure. The rest of the company is owned by employees and outside institutional investors.

Elon Musk bought twitter in 2022 which made his private investors lose money so a lot of financial experts think that to cover that loss he decided to merge twitter with his AI company which was unprofitable then , he has space X buy the AI company so that all those investors who has stock in Twitter has stock of space X too . So , now when he publics the IPO of Space X he knows that it will boom the market and thus his investors will be getting profit and will recover all the loss

One of the ways that he ensures that his investors will get their money back is by having space x being listed to NASDAQ.
So, Let me tell what NASDAQ is (National Association of securities Dealers Automated Quotation) is the world’s second -largest stock exchange by market capitalisation, behind only the New York stock exchange (NYSE).

The major downside of SpaceX getting listed on NASDAQ is that it will be added to the major index sooner, which essentially means Elon Musk won’t have to wait in line or even be stopped. He can immediately reach the final destination. SpaceX getting added to the index will affect ordinary people because it will be directly linked to index funds. Index funds are a huge part of ordinary people’s lives because they include retirement accounts. A direct link to index accounts means SpaceX can automatically take people’s money to invest in his company without their consultation.

Also, we cannot ignore the fact that at one point it also benefits the public as the thousands of former employee of space x who had restricted stock units or had any equity in the company became multi – millionaire overnight . Also those who invested a bit in the IPO have now earned quite a lot . So , we cannot completely forsee the benefits of the IPO.

Investing is space x has both benefits and losses just like every coin has two sides . Now, you can decide what side of the coin you belong to .
